NEW ROM Fusion
New, Low-Cost, Entry Level Bundler
EAM-Mosca Corp. in conjunction with its German partner, Mosca AG, is now offering the new, ROM-Fusion, high-quality, competitively priced, entry-level automatic strapping machine. Ideal for strapping smaller packages and bundles, the new ROM-Fusion is based on the proven ROM walk-up model introduced in the 1970’s and built with production innovations developed over the past forty years.
The ROM Series has always been characterized by its sturdy construction, reliability and easy operation. The walk-up unit’s strapping cycle is operated by triggering a footswitch, strapping the package positioned by machine operator on the tabletop. A potentiometer allows the operator to adjust strap tension.
Wholesalers, distribution centers and logistics companies have praised the compact ROM series machines for many years. This new version once again demonstrates the technological market leadership of Mosca AG. Proven in the field, the Standard 3 sealing unit, previously available only in high-performance machines, is now at the heart of the new ROM-Fusion. The central drive has been replaced by multiple decentralized DC motors. This offers a number of advantages. Key functions, including strap tension and feed, or strap return can be adjusted to meet user requirements and optimized for the specific application. The direct drive for these functions completely eliminates the need for wearing parts, including belts, clutches and chains. This is noticeable for the user in terms of maintenance-friendly operation.
Depending on the size of the product, the ROM-Fusion can strap at a rate of up to 55 straps per minute even with 5 mm strap. This is ideal, for example, when two operators are feeding simultaneously from front and back of the machine. Similar to earlier models, the ROM Fusion is suitable for packages of up to 600 mm high and 800 mm wide. The simple strap feed system makes coil changes easy.
The new ROM-Fusion is Mosca’s way of responding to the needs of entry-level customers who are unwilling to sacrifice quality. The machine is expected to attract the attention of users in Europe, America and Asia. The machine was introduced at the U.S. at Graph Expo, September 11th, 2011. EAM-Mosca offers a full line of semiautomatic, automatic and operator-less strapping systems for many industry segments, including graphic arts, distribution, logistics, corrugated, food and containers. The company is headquartered in Hazle Township, PA, USA, and was founded in 1982. Manufacturing facilities for plastic strapping and systems are located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and Ontario, Canada. Sales and service offices are located throughout North America, Mexico and with distributors and contract service providers in Central and South America.
