Special Strapping Machines from Mosca for Bundling Wood Moldings
Achieving consistently tight bundles of small wood products like moldings can be tricky business. The small perimeters of typical bundles and the un-compressible nature of the products often lead to loose packages with poor aesthetics and product security. EAM-Mosca is pleased to introduce multiple strapping system options that are designed to produce snugly strapped bundles with perimeters as small as 10 inches and widths as narrow as 3 inches.
The key to Mosca’s design for improving bundle quality is a special narrow sealing head. The narrow sealer reduces strap tension loss in the strap loop by reducing both the width and height of the strap sealing assembly. It includes a special temperature-controlled narrow heat seal blade and unique table shape to bring the product closer to the sealer head. The net benefit is that strap loop diameter is minimized and the natural elongation and recovery properties of the strapping produce a tightly tied and neat appearing bundle.
The most basic strapping machine that includes these features is the ROMP6-50/4 with narrow sealing option. To assist in forming a tight bundle, the unit can be specified with a vertical pneumatic press option and fixed mechanical side guide or horizontally acting pneumatic press. The combination of four-sided compression and narrow sealing option delivers the tight, secure product package that processors require.
The ROMP6-50/4 bundler also includes electronically controlled strap tension for excellent bundle-to-bundle consistency and a precision strap feeding system that offers extremely high feed efficiency and tool-less accessibility for convenient servicing.
The ROMP6-50/4 is a closed track system that is suitable for product that is fed through it in the length direction, placing successive straps at desired intervals.
Retractable Strap Track
Mosca also offers an alternative system, the RO-M-RI that can be paired in automated processing systems to provide multiple straps simultaneously to bundles that are fed through the system in the transverse or crossways direction.
The RO-M-RI features a radial, motor-driven track system that is positioned beneath the strapper table to enable incoming product to be fed into strapping position without being obstructed by a fixed track. When the product is placed in the strapping zone and the strap cycle is initiated, automatically or by an operator, the track is driven up through the table, surrounding the bundle and completing the feed track for automatic bundle strapping.
Besides its unique strap track, RO-M-RI features Mosca’s narrow sealing technology and, similar to the ROMP6-50/4, is capable of applying tight straps to small un-compressible bundles. It is typically engineered into an automatic product handling system for higher production automated banding of items like moldings and furring strips.
