New Bander for Small or Narrow Packages
EAM-Mosca is pleased to announce the market introduction of the Evolution ROMP-6-50/4 Narrow Sealer Strapping Machine, specially adapted to tightly strap small, non-compressible packages. It is well suited for securely tying bundles of wood moldings, metal and plastic tubes, and extrusions.
While plastic strapping typically elongates during the bundling process, it does possess some elastic recovery. However, small bundles of uncompressible products offer a challenge for most strapping systems to apply tight, secure straps. The ROMP-6 Narrow Sealer addresses these issues with a specially adapted sealing head with a small seal footprint and a modified table that positions the product very close to the sealing mechanism to minimize tension loss when the machine releases the sealed strap loop.
The unit has an arch opening of 500mm wide x 400mm high. It is able to reliably secure bundles as small as 3” wide x 2” tall with 5, 6, 8, 9 or 12mm wide Polypropylene strapping. It may be possible to successfully strap smaller bundles with wider straps under certain conditions. Testing is recommended to verify performance below the 3” x 2” guideline. The narrow sealer machine is available with Standard 6 strapway thermostatically controlled heat seal.
Mosca also offers a special option that includes a pneumatic press, which operates vertically; and a squaring device operating in the horizontal plane. The device helps to square and compact small bundles to ensure tight, secure strapping. The horizontal press pushes the bundle against either an adjustably positioned fixed plate, or alternatively, a second short-stroke press. This option helps assure that bundles are uniform and well secured in higher volume applications where operator attention to bundle preparation is limited.
The Evolution ROMP-6 represents Mosca’s newest technology and best ever family of high-performance strapping equipment. It is built in a high precision fixture that provides exceptionally reliable performance over millions of machine cycles. The strap track, from dispenser through sealing head can be disassembled and cleaned, without tools in minutes. Sealed bearing construction minimizes the impact of dust and dirt on performance, extending service intervals and reducing operating costs.
The Evolution ROMP-6-50/4 Narrow Sealer is one model in a broad lineup of the Mosca Evolution strapping machinery product family. Arch sizes range from as small as 500mm wide x 400mm high to 1650mm wide x 1000mm high. Units may be specified with stainless steel table top for operator cycling, or with powered belt or roller conveyor beds for fully automatic operation.
