Mosca Introduces New, ROMC-6 Heavy Duty, Large Arch Bundler
Mosca’s new ROMC-6 is an exceptional, large-arch, operator cycled strapper for the most demanding of large product applications. The ROMC-6 is functionally similar to its predecessor, the ROMC-5, with performance upgrades in several areas, says Edward Martin, vice president of sales and marketing for EAM-Mosca Corp., Mosca’s North American division.
According to Martin, “The new cabinet is structurally stronger to resist damage from movement and heavy loading. The strap accumulator is larger; avoiding strap kinking that can affect feed performance, especially in larger tracks. And, the machine features the new Mosca Standard 6 Strap Path technology and is the company’s most reliable, lowest maintenance-cost system yet. “
Additionally, whereas other strapping machine manufacturers offer open feed track systems in larger arch sizes, the ROMC-6 comes with the highly effective Mosca closed track system, which makes it possible to reliably feed lighter, lower cost straps around large tracks for potentially significant cost savings. As a convenience for maintenance staff, the strap feed channel assembles and disassembles without tools for fast cleaning.
The ROMC-6 is available in Mosca’s heat seal or proprietary Sonixs sealing technology in a bottom mounted location in the center of the arch, simplifying the product positioning of large products. The stainless-steel table-tops are completely removable for convenient servicing and are available with optional rollers to ease product movement. The extremely rugged cabinet handles the heaviest products and portability demands and table heights as low as 26″ with optional low height casters make it a good fit for most applications.
“Typical applications for the machine include strapping bulk bin boxes, windows and doors, mattresses, and other large products, often in corrugated cartons,” says Martin.
The system is height adjustable and includes four lockable casters for portability. Options include pneumatic double press, photo-eye cycle start, signal lights and special arch heights. Machine track widths range from 1000mm to 2600mm. A membrane style control panel pivots 180 degrees for convenient access and includes diagnostics to help resolve operating faults.
